New Supported Housing Service Launches in Shropshire

On 16 June 2025, Shropshire Mental Health Support (MHS) launched Shropshire MHS-SASH, a new supported housing service.

This follows the decision by the Board of the Shropshire Association for Supported Housing (SASH) to step away after many years of service. After positive discussions, Shropshire MHS has taken on SASH’s properties to continue providing vital supported accommodation.

A transition period is now underway. Shropshire MHS-SASH will soon offer supported housing in Shropshire for people living with enduring mental health challenges.

Residents will benefit from both shared and single housing, plus access to Shropshire MHS’s mental health services based in Shrewsbury.

Outgoing SASH Chair, David Battisby, said:

“I’m delighted we’ve partnered with Shropshire MHS to ensure continued support for our residents.”

Clive Ireland, Chair of Shropshire MHS-SASH, added:

“We’re grateful for the trust placed in us and look forward to delivering this much-needed service.”

The service will be led by Katie Donegan, Supported Housing Manager, who is excited to begin taking referrals and welcoming new residents soon.
