Our Chair, Clive Ireland, shared his thoughts and feelings about being a Trustee and what being part of Shropshire MHS means to him:

“As the Chair of the Board of Trustees, I work hand-in-hand with all of the other Trustees to ensure the governance and support needed by the CEO and managers is given, providing support wherever needed. Each of the Trustees brings their own wealth of talents, complimenting the rest of the board.

To be a Trustee, is to support one of the most amazing organisations I have ever worked for or within. The charity makes over 13,500 contacts per annum, changing lives across the community and ensuring each life touched is changed for the better. I would urge anyone looking to make a true difference within Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin to consider volunteering as a Trustee. I cannot explain in words just how good it feels to know you have changed a person’s life for the better, no matter how much or little time you feel you can give, it will all make such a difference to the most vulnerable within society.

Give us a call, come in for a chat – get a feel for what we do and how we do it – the charity averts over 700 potential suicides per year, that’s an amazing figure for amazing services!”
